Certainly not River Marked, I'm always a big fan of every Mercy book. There were some awkward points in Hunting Ground, and this book was just a bit more to my taste because I'm more an urban fantasy than romance girl, but I like both series very much. You should definitely catch up! I'm always happy to escape into this world, it's a guaranteed win for all of her fans, she's really one of the most consistent writers out there, wonderful characters, great stories. Though I'm not a big fan of the graphic novel adaptation of the Alpha & Omega series, maybe that's the confusion. I just don't like the art at all, it really throws me off more than any other series I've ever seen. But other people are fans so you should take a look for yourself.Greytfriendhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07134252504253192363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5534725688952671538.post-16437775670289342862013-06-20T20:39:56.533-04:002013-06-20T20:39:56.533-04:00I am so behind on the Mercy series and this one. Sorry to hear that Hunting Ground and River Marked disappointed. I still think I'd enjoy those since I like the characters so much. :)Hunting and Fishing Storeshttp://www.pocketknifeplanet.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5534725688952671538.post-27576965633224981192013-06-07T02:44:03.555-04:002013-06-07T02:44:03.555-04:00I didn't realize there was going to be a book ...I didn't realize there was going to be a book 4, that's good news! I hate, when good, logical set-up (and even if there is a lot of magic involved in books everything were logical) and on the end: BOOM, it's all MISTIC. English isn't my first language, so this might be a problem: too many metaphors, allegories and mystical stuff... still, I've recognized many of them, bud didn't understand epilogue at all... Well, It didn't felt like ending at all. And all the "twists" Del Franco just trow at the reader at the second half of book... He introduced a lot of new stuff, but didn't resolved many of old ones: for example: what with Nigel? Why he tried to kill Meryl? What happened to him?<br /> I love Del Franco style, I love all Connor Grey books, but this one (especially ending) was really disappointing. There are still issues with Chess thinking about how she isn't good enough or he wont trust her enough but she is getting a bit better with that and she is making a bit of progress with her personal issues. Terrible and Chess make great strides towards healing all the things that have happened to their relationship in the time they have been together. Chess' drug use is still heavy, at one point she gets herself into a scary situation and she was suitably scared by it. I'm not sure if that will make her cut back or not, I'm kinda hoping it does. I would love to see Chess drug free. Chess does a lot of thinking throughout the book on her "relationship" with Lex and if she truly wants to continue to have him in her life as a friend. He does some pretty crappy things in the book in my opinion but when he was needed he was there for her. I'm hoping she sticks with her final decisions though.Ceskahttp://conflicts4life.blogspot.com/?view=classicnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5534725688952671538.post-48437130005443019232012-06-28T00:42:17.410-04:002012-06-28T00:42:17.410-04:00What a spectacular read! CH restored my faith in her writing with several unexpected twists - and hence why I think she is going to rescue our beloved characters (and I do mean Sookie AND Eric) in the end game. I think she is a better writer than some reviewers who don't like the current state of affairs credit her for - and I don't think she is going to make the ultimate ending as obvious as it appears at the end of DL. Before delving into that more, and more blatent spoliers, I will say I liked how she wraps up the fae conflict/mystery - I was getting a little bored with them and there were some unexpected surprises. I liked having Niall back - he has a pivotal role in more ways than one in this book. I love Pam and Sookie's relationship - we didn't get as much of it as I would have liked, but they are on solid ground. Freyda surprised me, I would never have thought I would like her character but I do. Not for Eric, of course, but she has some devious potential.Portugalhttp://rantofimitation.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5534725688952671538.post-87937802276708681502012-04-22T17:56:56.782-04:002012-04-22T17:56:56.782-04:00I'm glad you love them, Maria! I bet you like romance, Briggs seems to have focused this series more on exploring the relationship, where the Mercy series is a bit more about conflicts and mysteries. I love both series, but I tend to go more for urban fantasy than romance, so I guess that showed in my review, didn't mean to slight the series at all. Plus it was just a longer book than the last two. But Charles definitely is my favorite of the guys in either series.Greytfriendhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07134252504253192363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5534725688952671538.post-87372157962135929692012-04-22T09:59:04.765-04:002012-04-22T09:59:04.765-04:00Can't argue with your points, but this book wi...Can't argue with your points, but this book will easily be one of my best reads for 2012 (at least so far.)
